We are delighted to announce that the Kotato Flute Workshop will present a special showcase at the 22nd Japan Flute Convention in KOBE 2025, marking our first appearance since 2017. Although it will take place on the morning of the convention’s final day—already packed with many exciting events—we warmly invite all attendees to join us for this rare opportunity to experience our work, featuring flutes of an extraordinary range: from soprano flute to the F contrabass flute. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the guest flutists who have so graciously agreed to perform on Kotato’s exclusive low flutes. These works include a variety of ensembles originally written for brass, strings, Japanese traditional instruments, and more. Through performance, we will examine changes in timbre, adaptability of range, and functionality within the ensemble, reflecting on both the unique appeal of performing on flutes and the new artistic possibilities they bring to the repertoire.
